Cumulant-Based Goodness-of-Fit Tests for the Tweedie, Bar-Lev and Enis Class of Distributions

چکیده

The class of natural exponential families (NEFs) distributions having power variance functions (NEF-PVFs) is huge (uncountable), with enormous applications in various fields. Based on a characterization property that holds for the cumulants members this class, we developed novel goodness-of-fit (gof) test testing whether given random sample fits fixed class. We derived asymptotic null distribution statistic and an appropriate bootstrap scheme. As content paper mainly theoretical, exemplify its applicability to only few elements NEF-PVF specifically, gamma modified Bessel-type NEFs. A Monte Carlo study was executed examining performance both—the counterpart—in controlling type I error rate evaluating their special case gamma, while real data examples demonstrate gof Bessel distribution.

On the Canonical-Based Goodness-of-fit Tests for Multivariate Skew-Normality

It is well-known that the skew-normal distribution can provide an alternative model to the normal distribution for analyzing asymmetric data. The aim of this paper is to propose two goodness-of-fit tests for assessing whether a sample comes from a multivariate skew-normal (MSN) distribution. We address the problem of multivariate skew-normality goodness-of-fit based on the empirical Laplace tra...

New Goodness-of-fit Tests for Pareto Distributions*

A new approach to goodness-of-fit for Pareto distributions is introduced. Based on Euclidean distances between sample elements, the family of statistics and tests is indexed by an exponent in (0,2) on Euclidean distance. The corresponding tests are statistically consistent and have excellent performance when applied to heavy-tailed distributions. The exponent can be tailored to the particular P...

Nonparametric Goodness-of-Fit Tests for Discrete Null Distributions

Methodology extending nonparametric goodness-of-fit tests to discrete null distributions has existed for several decades. However, modern statistical software has generally failed to provide this methodology to users. We offer a revision of R’s ks.test() function and a new cvm.test() function that fill this need in the R language for two of the most popular nonparametric goodness-of-fit tests. ...
